Peter Snell, New Zealand Born : 1938 in New Zealand. Peter continued the tradition of great middle distance runners after the premature retirement of Australian Herb Elliott. World record holder at 800 Metres he dominated at both 800 (Yards) and 1500 Metres (1 Mile) in the early 1960`s.
