| Anja Paerson, Sweden | Born : 1981 in Umea, Sweden. Following in the ski tracks of fellow Swede Pernilla Wiberg, this Slalom specialist has battled Janica Kostelic in recent seasons and with the Croatian`s injury, dominated the 2004 World Cup, taking the Overall as well as 3 individual Titles. In 2005 she retained her Overall World Cup title and won 2 World Golds. Further success in the Torino Olympics with gold in the Slalom followed a season in which she won World Cup races in every discipline. In 2007 she retained her World Super G crown along with golds in Downhill and Combined to become the first skier in history to win World titles in all 5 disciplines. |
