Swimming Career Highlights
David Wilkie, Great Britain Born : 1954 in Scotland. Wilkie has a claim on the title - greatest British swimmer. Winner of gold medals at all the major championships in his main event - breaststroke, he also was sucessful in the 200 metres Individual Medley. Winning the gold medal in the 1976 Montreal Olympics, he broke the 200 metres Butterfly world record by an amazing 3 seconds !
