Rod Laver, Australia Born : 1938 in Rockhampton. "Rocket Rod" has a real claim for title of the world`s greatest tennis player. The only man to achieve 2 Grand Slams and could have won more but for the exclusion of the professionals from the Major tournaments for over 5 years.
